That was Costner, Partner!

If you're a fan of Ryan Adams (or even if you're not), you've gotta check out his new song that's streaming over his site. Hands down my vote for song of the year right now. The site has a somewhat confusing interface, but is every bit as enjoyable as the song. Awwwwww, yeah!

Hang Em High

Why in God's creation do I have so many empty hangers? Are they spawning in my closet at night? I just don't get it...

I Steal Babies

And now I'm back...From Outer K.C.

Just got back into the city yesterday after an eight day excursion back in the more plain topography (pun probably intended) of Kansas. It was an absolute blur of wall-to-wall activities and plans and I'm beginning to wonder if I just fell asleep for a while and dreamt it all. The scenery sure didn't help to disprove that idea; It's as though a giant virus of bland beige strip malls is slowly engulfing the whole area. And each one seems to repeat itself couple miles: Target, Home Depot, Best Buy...Target, Home Depot, Best Buy...ad infinitum.

But regardless of the Corpo-Monotony, it was good times to be able to see all my friends from back yonder. Including hitting up Lawrence, the 'Ville, and...uh Old Chicago? Wasn't able to make it downtown, though I really wanted to. Maybe they'll throw up a GIGANTOR TARGET next to the new Sprint Center. I bet it would be totally different from every other Target! Did catch a couple sports games (Royals and K-State), though they both ended with an unsuprising letdown. And finally, I was able to meet, for the first time, my new niece, Lauren. She's a tiny peanut at the moment and whenever I held her she seemed to enjoy knocking her binky out and attempting to talk to me (in wailing baby speech of course.) Still, it was really cool to see her and really crazy to think that I will probably be the 'uncle you don't see very often': "Hey kid, remember me?" *Cries and Runs away*

Final Note: I would have more pictures to share if any of my friends actually owned or used cameras. Shame on you, mates! You only have 3,240 Best Buys to choose from!

In honor of me catching a rerun of another of AFI's increasingly pointless lists, I'vd decided to share an all-new one:

100 Years...5 Herbie Movies!

6) Herbie Fully Loaded
- This one barely made the list.

5) Herbie Rides Again
- This actually got a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Which tells you more about the Globes than this movie.

4) Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo
- Who can forget Don Knotts turn as bitter mechanic Wheely Applegate...oh yeah, I forgot he was in this one.

3) Herbie Goes Bananas
- If there's one thing that Mexico is in dire need of, it's another VW Bug.

2) Schindler's List
- How'd that happen?

1) Herbie: The Love Bug
- Buddy Hackett on a bender in a G movie takes the cake!

Wall of Concerts

Unfortunately, and quite suprisingly, the number of concerts I've seen in Seattle so far is next to nil (1 *head bowed*). Which isn't to say there aren't lots of shows going on, but the ole drafting table keeps me busy and other circumstances seem to distract and dissuade me. Anyways, I just discovered a period of about two weeks in October when The Futureheads, The National, Art Brut, Magnolia Electric Co, and The Thermals will all be making stops nearby. Good times shall be had by all- or at least by me!
