Just Not My Year

I think I'm about to give up on sports for the rest of the year. Let's retread my track record so far: Royals - Worst Team in Baseball. Chiefs - Biggest Dissapointment in NFL so far. Wildcats - Faltering badly after a Conference Championship year. Even the baseball playoffs aren't boding well for my preferences: Yankees vs Cardinals in the Series? I'd rather take Sandra Bernhardt to a Nickelback concert. Here's hoping the Pistons can put together another run for the Crown in the NBA. If not, well...there's always nascar.

And by nascar I mean shooting myself in my eye.

Space is the Place

I turned on the morning news today and was stunned by what I saw- the first commercially-viable, privately-funded spacecraft launching out of the Earth's atmosphere! (and back in again shortly thereafter) I was actually talking to Phil about this just yesterday- wondering if we'd ever see commercial flights into space in the near future. Well, the future was right on my heels apparently. I'm still pretty awed by the implications of it all. Now- To send a monkey to Mars! Go Speed Racer, GO!
