Hmmm
I came home (or "used-to-be-home") today for Thanksgiving with my family (or most of my family). I don't think my brothers and their wives are coming here this year. It gets so confusing anymore swapping holidays and whatnot. What a nuisance. I am more excited about Thanksgiving this year than most, though. I can't really figure out why, but I'm definitely looking forward to some Eating Time followed by Football Time followed by Napping Time. And speaking of Thanksgiving Day Football (Do they actually sell Turduckens??), anyone who watches it knows that the
Lions are one of the two teams that always play on that day. Thus, as I was lounging around aimlessly tonight watching the tele, I got stuck on
ESPN Classic. They first showed a rerun of the 1982 Cal-Stanford game which has the single most mind-blowing, amazing play you will ever see in football. Then they ran the SportsCentury (basically like Behind-the-Music) for
Barry Sanders. I am still floored by what a player and human being he is. His phenomenal abilities were only matched by his humble character. Sadly, I don't know if we'll ever see the likes of someone like him again.....
(although Darren Sproles is doing a nice job of trying to mirror him).

Rambling on...
I'm trying to work on this second short script right now, but it just isn't happening. I don't know why I don't feel like writing, but it's bugging me. If it's something I want to do for the rest of my life, shouldn't I have more drive to do it? Then again, I guess inspiration is a big key. I'm more inspired to work on my website right now....maybe I'll just do that.....maybe.......

Lord, I hope I don't bring down the House!
So my thrilling half-weekend excursion back to O-town turned out well...I suppose. Yeah it did. I shared my recently finished short script adaptation (?) with Chris and Joe while there. It's the first "script" that I've actually ever finished, so I was a little nervous since Chris has written somewhere around 10 and Joe is in the middle of a 400 pg novel. I couldnt really gauge Chris's reaction too well- I think he was just excited in general that I had actually finished one. He did have some good techinical answers for me though. Joe seemed to enjoy it a lot or at least his reactions were a lot more noticeable. All in all, I'm pretty excited to film it as soon as possible (which would most likely be in a few months once the sun comes out of hibernation).
In other news, I met Taylor at Wal-Mart for some impromptu shopping late last night. However, on the way home I realized that I had put the
Tums I purchased in my pocket without ever paying for them. So if any Wal-Mart rep's are reading this, know that it was only a package of
Tums and it won't break your monthly sales records. Also, I apologize.

Quesition(s)
Here's another
Five for ya! (Yeah, I haven't done it in a couple months, so sue me).
1. What food do you like that most people hate?
Meatloaf is the closest thing that comes to mind. Do most people hate Meatloaf? How about Triscuits? Does Triscuits work?
2. What food do you hate that most people love?
Mushrooms- How do people eat those things? The texture and taste are disgusting and the smell is enough to cause vomitting.
3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?
That girl from Alias...Jennifer Garner. Her forehead is massive. Her eyes are too close together. Her lips seem too big for her face. She inherited her father's jaw. And if you watched her on Conan, you'd realize what a priss she is too.
4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find
attractive?
Bjork. I've heard some people say she looks like an alien...which I can kinda see, but I still find her to be the Cat's Meow.
5. What popular trend baffles you?
Most of them.

Same Crap, Different Movie
So I decided to see
The Matrix Revolutions last night, despite my being annoyed with much of the second film. Well...my annoyance with these sequels was only magnified by this last one. What pointless inane dreck. Numerous logical inconsistencies. Horrific dialogue. Bland action scenes. Terrible pacing. Granted, I thought the first half of
The Matrix Reloaded was terrible, but the second half gave me hope that the third could end the trilogy rightly. But alas, it was a puff of smoke after an explosion. The three main characters (Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus) were hardly even in it. An opening that had no relevance at all. A conclusion that wasnt nearly as thrilling as the first filim's. I'd go so far as to equate it with the Stormtroopers and Rebels deciding to call a truce and go their separate ways. Just...plain....stupid. When I heard that they were making sequels to the first, I had high doubts that they could come up with any good storyline to continue it. It's all the more frustrating because the second one had hints of interesting new developments (Neo being able to use his power outside the Matrix, Agent Smith freeing himself of the Matrix, a love triangle with Persephone (who I might add was
extremely underused in this third film), etc, etc), but they werent explained at all!!! Myriads of loose ends never to be tied together.

The Great Pumpkin
Another Halloween gone by, another costume filled night. For a minute there, I was a little worried about not pulling off a costume, but it all came through in the end. I was planning on going as Han Solo (mock all you want, he still kicks @$$), but I couldn't find a reasonable holster anywhere. Is that so much to ask!? So I threw together a nice little corudory ensemble at the last second that seemed to go off well. I was a mixture of Used Car Salesman and History Professor (Argyle Thorntree IV - his great grandfather invented the compass). If I ever get my website up (*sigh*) I'll have some pictures to show.
I also carved a pumpkin in honor of one of my favorite Halloween
icons. I probably should've carved it
before Halloween, but that would've made too much sense...
